Our treatment approach is led and adapted by our program director, who is a retired Force Reconnaissance Marine and Marine Raider from Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC).
Adrian Marquez brings a unique perspective to the field of counseling. He spent 16 years in the Marine Corps as a Reconnaissance Marine and Marine Special Operations – Critical Skills Operator. During this time he served as a Sniper, Combatant Diver, military free-fall, Force Reconnaissance Team Leader, and Special Operations Team Chief. He has also had the opportunity to fulfill many other nontraditional roles under Special Operations Command. He has participated in large operations like Phantom Fury in Fallujah, as well as many irregular posts across Afghanistan as a Marine Raider.
Combat related injuries awarded him a purple heart and led him to transition careers. During his transition he felt the call to help others strive toward wellness through the field of counseling. He earned his Bachelors in Psychology at Campbell University and his Masters is in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Adrian is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Adrian brings a unique perspective toward working with first responders, service members, veterans, government workers, military families and the issues they face. However that does not limit his therapeutic interest. He is also drawn to work with those who have anxiety, depression, relationship complications, or experienced trauma. His approach is Adlerian and he employs a Cognitive Behavioral framework in treatment. When requested he will gladly include spiritual and Christian values into his treatment.
